Biographies

 

Ronald W. Steele

President

 

Ronald W. Steele has directed field operations since founding the business in 1968, as well as assuming responsibility for all firm operations after the retirement of his partner in 1993. With over 40 years in the design and construction of excavation support systems, facade preservation and structural modifications shoring systems, he provides our clients with unmatched knowledge and experience.

 

Mr. Steele serves the industry as a committee member of the Post-Tensioning Institute Prestressed Rock and Soil Anchor Committee. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Earth Retention Committee. The firm also maintains membership in the Deep Foundations Institute, ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling, Washington Building Congress, American Subcontractors Association, and Associated Builders and Contractors.

 

He is a registered Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Steele was graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1960.

 

Mr. Steele has been married for over 40 years and has four successful adult children and eight wonderful grandchildren.

 

 

J. Andrew Steele

Vice President

 

Since joining the firm in 1991, J. Andrew Steele has worked on the engineering and estimating of over four hundred sheeting, shoring, and underpinning projects.  Prior to joining the firm, he performed the structural design of commercial buildings for the engineering firm, James Madison Cutts, for four years.  He also worked for one year for the firm Delon Hampton & Associates performing structural design of bridges.

 

Mr. Steele is a past director of ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling, past chairman of its scholarship committee and past co-chairman of its Geo-Support Committee. He is also active in the Mid-Atlantic chapter of ADSC. He serves on the editorial board of the new magazine, Geo-Strata, for the Geo-Institute of ASCE.

 

He is a registered Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Steele was graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, from Purdue University in 1986.

 

Mr. Steele has been married for 17 years and has three near-perfect children.
